Welcome to Warrington Masters Swimming Club

Warrington Masters is a competitive swimming club dedicated for swimmers over the age of 18. Our aim is to promote participation in the sport and be successful at Masters swimming competitions, including both Pool-based and Open Water events. We aim to create a fun and friendly environment for training and competition.


The club compete in a wide range of events from local galas through to national and international events. We are proud to have a number of National Champions and British Record holders at the club and would love to have more! We welcome new members whatever their swimming background, from swimmers who have never competed through to seasoned veterans.

Training Times

Training is delivered through the LiveWire Masters Swim Scheme. Session times are as follows:

  • Monday 8-9.30pm (Great Sankey)
  • Wednesday 9-10pm (Woolston)
  • Thursday 8.30-10pm (Orford)
  • Friday 8.30-10pm (Orford)
  • Sunday 3-5pm (Orford)

There are two levels of LiveWire Masters membership:

  • £45.80 per month (unlimited number of sessions)
  • £25.75 per month (access to a max of 2 sessions per week)

Membership to Warrington Masters SC is £10 per year, plus Swim England Registration.

NOV24   South Yorkshire Masters

Two weeks after the Swim England Masters Championships seven WMSC members returned to Sheffield for the South Yorkshire Masters meet.


Some great swimming and times achieved. Special congratulations to Ben Harkin on setting another GB record. He broke the GB record for 100 breastroke clocking 1.04.55.

 

OCT24   Swim England Masters

17 swimmers made their way to Sheffield to represent Warrington Masters as the annual Swim England National Masters Championships. From the individual events a total of 22 medals came home (8 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze) and three GB records!


The club also entered 8 relay teams in the Mens and Mixed relay events. We achived a Silver, Bronze and 3nr 4th place finishes.


As a result of some excellent swimming over the weekend Warrington Masters achieved 21st place in the top club competition (out of a total of 291 clubs).


 

 

JUL24   Cheshire Masters

The club had 14 individuals and 6 teams competing at this years Cheshire Masters including a couple of swimmers representing the club for the first time.


From the 36 individual swims the club recorded 17 Gold; 12 Silver; and 3 Bronze. 


WMSC won all 6 of the relays in which we entered a team.


 

Oct23 Swim England Masters

 

Exceptional performance for the team at the Swim England National Championships in Sheffield at the 3 day event in Sheffield.


29 medals (12 gold; 9 silver; 8 bronze) and 8nr British Records and plenty of PBs!


 

 

Oct23 Cheshire Masters

 

Cheshire Masters took place at Stockport on the 15th July.


11 swimmers represented the club and came away with 10 gold; 8 silvers; and 3 bronze.


We entered 6 reams in the relays and each won their respective events (2nr breaking the Cheshire Record)


 

Feb23 North West  Masters

 

12 swimmers represented the club in Blackpool and won a total of 43 medals (38 individual and 4 in the relays)


13 club records set!



 

Oct22 Swim England Masters

 

The team of 9 returned with a very impressive haul of medals and national/international records at the Swim England National Short Course championships in Sheffield.


From the individual events the tally was 8 gold; 9 silver; 2 bronze; and a GB record for Ben Harkin in the 100 fly 57.24


From the relay events to tally was; 4 gold; 1 silver; 3 GB records and 1 European record


 

 

Oct22 West Midlands Masters

 

On 8th October, 6 members of the club travelled to Coventry for the West Midlands Masters in preparation for the Swim England national championships at the end of the month in Sheffield.


The meet was very well run and the fast pool led to the general conclusion that things are looking good.


Between them Lindsay, Ben, Graeme, Chris, Russ and Mark recorded 18 first places and 5 second places

 

Aug22 Gloucester Masters

 

Warrington Masters Swimming Club travelled down to Gloucester on 7th August to take part in the annual open masters meet. 


Due to covid restrictions this meet has not been held since 2019 so it was a welcomed return to the calendar.


The club won 16 Golds; 5 silvers; and 2 bronze medals.
